Our latest 'Exporting from across Britain: Financial and related professional services 2020' report shows financial services to be the biggest exporting service sector in almost every British region and nation.
The report also reveals all regions and nations in Britain saw growth in financial and related professional services exports in 2019 according to our new estimates, with almost half (48%) of all financial and related professional services exports generated outside London. The industry’s exports rose overall by 8.2% year-on-year, contributing a total of £126.5bn to the UK economy, while helping to support highly-skilled, well-paid jobs right across the country.
The report is based on the latest available historical data through 2018 and TheCityUK estimates for industry exports in 2019, and therefore does not assess the impact of the pandemic on regional trade.
